Thank you for sharing a bit of your background. It means so much to me that you trust that I’m trying to evolve and work toward greater understanding. Please keep reaching out, teaching out, and helping us all to take a closer step toward harmony.

I will share this with you: I had the great fortune of spending a few minutes alone with Angela Davis about five years ago. She is a powerful speaker, and her presence alone is both powerful and peaceful. I shared with her that I was troubled that so many people I knew kept insisting that “All lives matter,” and that I was struggling to have a good response to that. She said to me, “All lives can’t matter until black lives matter.” That statement moved me to tears, realizing that although that is a simple statement, we are struggling to honor it as a nation. I repeat that phrase often to myself, remembering that moment with Davis and all it meant. It was one of my favorite learning moments.

Blessings to you!
